No, submitting an application for the waitlist does not automatically ensure that you will be placed on the waitlist, qualify as eligible, or receive a housing offer.
Citizenship is not a mandatory requirement for all household members. However, at least one member of the household must be either a U.S. Citizen, a national, or a non-citizen with eligible immigration status as defined by the program’s criteria. Before assistance is granted, the household will need to present proof of citizenship or eligible immigration status.
A Social Security number is not a requirement for applying to the waitlist. However, if any members of the household possess a Social Security Number, it needs to be included in the application. For those who do not have a Social Security Number, specific instructions provided in the application should be followed.
No, applying to a waitlist is completely free of charge, and a credit report is not required for the application process.
Albert Lea Housing and Redevelopment Authority (ALHRA) must be able to contact you through mail. If you relocate or if there’s a change in your family composition while you’re on the waiting list, you must inform us right away. You can do this by calling us at (507) 377-4375. Please be aware that not reporting these changes might lead to your name being removed from the waiting list.
